Turkey will deport seven Russian citizens who were detained while trying to cross the border through unlawful means to allegedly join Daesh terrorist organization in Syria. According to reports, the Russian citizens were detained in Elbeyli district of southeastern Kilis province on December 1, for being members of the Daesh terrorist organization.Five of the seven suspects are reportedly minors and were brought to the Provincial Migration Management center for deportation.According to prosecutors, there is also strong evidence that the cell was responsible for the Suruç suicide bombing on July 20 that killed more than 30 pro-Kurdish activists. Daesh is believed to have been behind two suicide attacks, which claimed the lives of over 100 people in Turkey.Since the Ankara bombing, there has been an increase in police operations against Daesh supporters in Turkey. In August, Turkey's fighter jets carried out their first airstrikes as part of the U.S.-led coalition against Daesh in Syria, while security forces have ramped up measures to detect and detain suspects who may have links with the terrorist organization.
