A Turkish court on Saturday ordered the arrest of two suspected Daesh suicide bomber hopefuls who were captured by the police and were found to be plotting terrorist attacks on New Year's Even in the capital Ankara.The suspects are accused of "being a member of a terrorist organization" and "possessing explosives". Following their testimonies at the Ankara Prosecutor's Office, the suspects named Musa Canöz (28) and Adnan Yıldırım (40) have been referred to the court on duty, which ordered their arrest. The suspects have been dispatched to Sincan Prison. Ankara police detained the suspects in a counterterrorism operation conducted on Wednesday in the capital's Mamak district. The two suspects linked to Daesh were planning an attack in the busy neighborhood of Kızılay, on New Year's Eve, according to police. The Ankara Governorate released a statement on Wednesday regarding the attack stating that two Daesh members, who had been scouting various places of the city to plan an attack, were captured by the police.The statement further said: "Along with the [Daesh] members, one explosive vest ready to be used and a backpack containing shrapnel and material used in bomb making have been seized. The investigation regarding the incident is ongoing."Turkish media outlets reported that the suspects, of Turkish nationality, had been to Syria before. Ankara was hit with twin suicide bombings in October when two Daesh terrorists detonated explosives in a crowd of leftist, pro-Kurdish and union activists at a peace rally. The atrocity came as the country was preparing for the Nov. 1 early general elections, and was the deadliest attack in modern Turkish history, as it killed 103 people and wounded hundreds more.
