Police arrested eight people suspected of being members of the PKK terrorist organization in connection to Thursday's explosion near a military post in Istanbul's Sancaktepe district.

Police officials Friday told Anadolu Agency (AA) on the condition of anonymity that one of the eight arrested suspects was identified as the person allegedly responsible for parking the bomb-laden vehicle and detonating the remote-control bomb when a shuttle bus carrying military personnel was passing by.

The blast injured five soldiers and three civilians.
