FETÖ revises its senior managers abroad
After it was exposed following the failed July 15 coup attempt in Turkey, the Gülenist Terrorist Group (FETÖ) revised its team of senior managers and officials in foreign countries, a Turkish security source said.
FETÖ revised the personnel and cut the numbers of officials from 14 to 11, according to the security source who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Turkey accuses the terror group led by Fetullah Gülen, a resident of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, of organizing the defeated July 15 coup.
According to the source, Mustafa Özcan is the number two figure after Gülen himself. Known as the so-called "imam," Özcan took the responsibility for FETÖ-linked schools in Balkan countries in 2007. Özcan's current whereabouts are unknown.
The 10 other senior figures in the organization are İsmet Aksoy, Naci Tosun, Şerif Ali Tekalan, İrfan Yılmaz, Reşit Haylamaz, Abdullah Aymaz, Mehmet Erdoğan Tuzun, Mehmet Ali Şengül, Mustafa Yeşil, and Sadık Kesmeci.
The source said these senior managers left Turkey in 2014, but their current whereabouts are unknown. The source said FETÖ is active in 30 countries in Europe. Its top man in Europe is Abdullah Aymaz, who is wanted by Turkey.
The source said Hayrettin Özkul is its top man in Germany, Adnan Azak is responsible for U.K. operations and Hayrettin Karakuş heads the terror group in France.
FETÖ is also active in 20 countries in Asia, said the source.
Harun Tokak, who is responsible for Israel, is wanted by Turkey and has also been accused of financing the terror group.
Mevlüt Boztaş is responsible for Saudi Arabia, Mustafa Arslan for Japan, and Levent Oğuz for China. İsmail Büyükçelebi, who is wanted by Turkey, was responsible for China in 1997 before being assigned to the U.S. in 2010.
İsmail Nazli is responsible for Canada, Osman Karaca for Mexico, and Hamdullah Bayram Öztürk for Brazil.
In Africa, FETÖ has 20 officials in 20 countries, said the source.
They include Orhan Keskin, its top man in Egypt, Nurettin Kaya in Libya, Ali Kökten in Tunisia, and Hamit Olgun in Algeria.
The terror group is also active in Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Australia, said the source.
