Authorities take action against attack on HDP offices

The Interior Ministry issued a directive Sunday to all provincial police departments, ordering them to take action against provocative attacks against the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) offices and initiate legal proceedings against the culprits.

After Saturday's terrorist attack in Kayseri, nationalist protestors attacked and ransacked the offices of the pro-PKK HDP in Kayseri and several other cities across the country.

In Kayseri, protesters broke into the building where a HDP office is located, scattering papers and furniture on the street and removing the HDP sign from the entrance. A group then ascended to the top of the building, setting off a fire and draping from the top a giant red flag with three crescent moons, the insignia of the right-wing Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).

Hundreds of HDP members, including parliamentary deputies and mayors, are currently being investigated for links to the PKK terrorist organization. Many members have been caught red-handed while aiding and abetting the terrorist group. Several HDP deputies, including its co-leaders, are currently under arrest.
