PKK member says FETÖ helped him become officer
A lieutenant arrested for links to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), which is accused of masterminding the July 15 coup attempt by a junta loyal to the group, revealed the group helped him to enroll in military school despite his links to the PKK, another terrorist group.
Identified as F.U., the military officer whose confessions were reported by the Akşam daily, said FETÖ — which is known for its widespread infiltration in law enforcement, judiciary, bureaucracy and the army — deleted his criminal record in order to help him enroll in military school after he graduated from university. He had 10 records of terror propaganda and other crimes involving support of the PKK and attending pro-PKK rallies, which would make him ineligible to apply for military school. "I knew a senior FETÖ member who told me that they can ‘make me' a military officer. I accepted it and he introduced me to ‘imams,'" F.U. said, referring to senior FETÖ figures overseeing the infiltration of the state. "In return, they asked me to make monthly donations to the group," he said.
F.U. then stayed in a FETÖ-run dormitory in Istanbul. There, he was given the questions and answers to the military school's exams — a common practice among the terror cult's members who have access to questions and answers in almost every important exam thanks to their infiltration of state-run boards overseeing the exams.
