Cem Küçük, a journalist and author known for his support for the government's anti-terror operations, escaped an armed attack that targeted his home in Istanbul late Monday. Küçük was at work when unknown gunmen opened fire on the house where his brother and his family were staying at the time of the attack. Bullets broke the windows and riddled the walls of the apartment while the family escaped uninjured from the assault.Police launched an investigation into the incident where four shots were fired, possibly from a shotgun, at the house.Speaking to reporters at the scene, Küçük said he was "not intimidated" by the attack but was worried as his brother, his wife and their two young children were at home at the time of the attack. "It does not look like an ordinary shooting or stray bullets. It might be a terror attack. I am not scared at all, whether it is the work of the PKK, the DHKP-C [Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-front] or FETÖ [the Gülenist Terror Group]," he said, referring to three terrorist groups he staunchly criticizes in his articles and TV shows.Küçük, whose work is published by what his critics call "pro-government media," is known for his outspoken criticism of the terrorist groups that find support in Turkey and abroad from politicians and activists.
