More details have emerged regarding a new indictment charging the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ) for greenlighting the 2007 murder of prominent Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink. Prosecutors say that FETÖ, which is also blamed for last year's foiled coup attempt, attempted to sanction the murder by having its infiltrators within the law enforcement and the intelligence agencies turn a blind eye to tips-off about the murder and using it to blame the affair on a concocted gang.

The alleged gang, all of them FETÖ critics, were jailed on false charges earlier. The highlight of the indictment is that most suspects involved in the cover-up of intelligence tips were loyal to FETÖ whose clout extended from law enforcement to the judiciary as well as the military.

A military intelligence officer led an intelligence team tracking down Ogün Samast, the convicted murderer of Hrant Dink, and the team was at the scene when Dink was shot dead outside his office in Istanbul. That intelligence officer, named Capt. Muharrem Demirkale, was arrested for taking part in the July 15 coup attempt.

Prosecutors say that the terrorist group was aware of a murder plot as early as 2005. It approved the murder and its infiltrators in the judiciary, the police and the media used it to justify the presence of Ergenekon, abovementioned gang.
