The Turkish Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) Saturday has reinstated 82 judges and prosecutors previously dismissed over suspected links with the Gülenist terror group (FETÖ).

The decision to reinstate the judges and prosecutors came after 411 judges and prosecutors demanded a re-examination of their cases.

While 82 of the applying judges and prosecutors were reinstated, the demand of the remaining 411 applicants were dismissed according to the state-owned Anadolu Agency.

Meanwhile, the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office issued a detention warrant for 16 judges, six prosecutors and one administrative law judge who were earlier dismissed from their positions due to suspected links with FETÖ.

Led by U.S.-based fugitive preacher Fetullah Gülen, FETÖ orchestrated a failed coup plot and stood behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state.

Apart from the coup attempt, FETÖ suspects confessed that the group used infiltrators in the judiciary and law enforcement to conspire against its critics, imprisoning them in sham trials and illegally wiretapping thousands of people.
