What started out as a rare chance to have a prank photo ended with robbery for two friends in Istanbul. Two men, identified only with their initials, E.S. and E.Ç., befriended Ümit D. while sitting in a park.Ümit D. told them he was a police officer and showed them the handcuffs he was carrying. When the men asked him to take a fake detention photo with handcuffs, Ümit D. obliged and then ran away with their cellphones after handcuffing them to each other.Police apprehended the fake officer in another case in the city's Maltepe district and brought him to a station where, coincidentally, the victims were explaining to the officers on duty how they ended up handcuffed. Ümit D. was arrested.
