Four more soldiers surrender, confess FETÖ links

Four Turkish military officers yesterday surrendered to authorities as they confessed to having been affiliated with the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ).

The officers may be hoping to receive lenient sentences for coming forward with evidence against a terrorist group.

The four officers, two from the land forces and two from the navy, reportedly surrendered to the Ankara Police Department.

The surrenders come after Capt. Burak Akın, Land Forces Commander Gen. Yaşar Güler's protection officer, surrendered a few weeks ago.

Despite being wounded while trying to resist the FETÖ coup attempt on July 15, 2016, Akın admitted his links to FETÖ and divulged many secrets about the group. He was later released pending trial.

Reports claimed that the officers who surrendered yesterday included a lieutenant colonel and a major from the land forces and two lieutenant colonels from the navy.
