Turkish court sentences Belgian Daesh suspect to 10 years

A court in the central city of Kayseri handed down 10 years in prison for Amina Ghezzal, a Belgian citizen of Algerian origin, for membership in the terrorist group Daesh.

The woman, who told the court she worked as an interpreter for Daesh, was captured in the city with her Syrian husband Mohammad Alhamad.

Alhamad was sentenced to three years in prison for aiding a terrorist group.

Ghezzal and her husband were arrested in January and Belgium has sought her extradition.
