Over 30 FETÖ suspects arrested in anti-terror raids across Turkey
A total of 32 people have been arrested across Turkey for their alleged links to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), the group behind the 2016 defeated coup attempt. The arrests came after the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant for 45 police officers including some who were dismissed as part of a probe into FETÖ's police structure. The simultaneous operations for their arrests were conducted in various provinces including the capital Ankara, Turkey's western Izmir and southern Isparta provinces. The search for the other suspects is ongoing.FETÖ and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gülen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 250 people killed and nearly 2,200 injured.Ankara also accuses FETÖ of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
