Aynes Food Inc. transferred to Turkey’s regulatory body TMSF over fund transfers to FETÖ

A Turkish court ordered Wednesday for prominent dairy products and fruit juices maker Aynes Food Industry and Trade Inc. to be transferred to Turkey's Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) over its Georgian affiliate's money transfers to the Gülenist Terror Group (FETÖ), the movement behind the July, 15 2016 failed coup attempt.

The final verdict of the 2nd Criminal Court in Turkey's Denizli province came after a lengthy legal process which started following the Denizli chief public prosecutor's office's appointment of a trustee to the company after the company's affiliate in Georgia was found to have attempted to transfer money worth TL 284.000 ($52.943,59) to the FETÖ.

The previous verdict on appointing a trustee had been lifted in Dec.10 upon an application by the company's former executive.

Since the coup attempt, anti-terror investigations into the FETÖ's operations have also included some businesspeople, alleged to have provided the group financial support under the guise of "benevolence payments."

With investigations still underway, the companies, whose owners or executives were taken into custody and detained, were later put under government control and transferred to the TMSF.

Kayseri-based Boydak Holding was the first company to be transferred to the TMSF. Many other companies from all over Turkey, including Koza İpek Holding, Gaziantep-based Naksan Holding and companies related to the Dumankaya family have also been transferred to the TMSF.

FETÖ planted its men and women in every institution - from the army to law enforcement – in Turkey for decades before it openly declared war against the state with two coup attempts in 2013. In July 15, 2016 the group tried to tackle the democratically-elected government as a final attempt, killing 250 people and wounding more than 2,200.
