Istanbul municipality announced on Wednesday that it will hold a tender for two new metro lines on September."A tender will be held for the Ataköy-Ikitelli and Dudullu-Bostanci metro lines in September," Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbaş said in a statement.The Ataköy-İkitelli line on Istanbul's European side will be 13.3 kilometers [8 miles] and will enable around 45,000 passengers to travel in one hour on one direction, said the statement.Journey time between Ataköy and İkitelli will be 19.5 minutes and the tender for this line will be held on September 14, added the statement.Topbaş also underlined that, with the implementation of Ataköy-Ikitelli line, the route around Basın Ekspres Yolu will integrate with other rail systems including the Marmaray and Olimpiyatköy-Bağcılar metro line.In this way Istanbulites living in Bakirköy, Bahçelievler Bağcılar, Küçükçekmeceand Başakşehir will be able to use the lines, said Topbaş.The Dudullu-Bostancı line on Istanbul's Asian side will be 14.2 kilometers [9 miles] and will have the capacity to carry 45,000 passengers in an hour.The tender for this line will be held on September 10. The journey between Dudullu and Bostancı will take 21 minutes, said the statement.

Topbaş also added that the Dudullu-Bostancı line will cross Maltepe, Kadiköy, Ataşehir and Ümraniye and will connect with the Kadiköy-Kartal metro line and Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Sancaktepe-Çekmeköy metro lines.
