Police detain 27 suspects over Istanbul airport terror attack

Three more people were detained early Sunday as a part of investigation into Tuesday's deadly Istanbul Atatürk Airport attack, Turkish security sources said.

The total number of people detained over the terror attack rose to 27, an unnamed security sources said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.

Officers from Istanbul police department's anti terror branch detained 13 suspects on Thursday and 11 foreign suspects on Friday.

Tuesday night's attack saw three terrorists open fire in the international terminal of Atatürk International Airport before detonating explosives, killing 45 people and injuring more than 200.

Meanwhile, 13 suspects, including three foreigners, were referred to Istanbul's Bakırköy Court House on Sunday.
