A man fell from the sixth floor of the mall and fell on top of another man, in what was thought to be a suicide attempt. Cenk Tüfekçi, 47, succumbed to his wounds from the fall at a hospital on Thursday, while İlhan Güven Akgemik, 30, on whom he landed, died of his injuries on Friday.Police are now examining the security cameras from the mall to determine whether Tüfekçi committed suicide or accidentally fell from the mall's atrium. The mall, opened in 2005 in the commercial district of Mecidiyeköy, and has six floors and more than 200 stores. The first death in the mall popular among locals and tourists was in 2006 when a 16-year-old teenager fell to his death from an upper floor when he slipped on the railing he was leaning on. Also in 2006, a 3-year-old girl fell to her death from an escalator on the fourth floor. In 2012, 2013 and 2014, four people committed suicide by jumping from the fifth and sixth floors of the mall.
