A few days of rainfall is set to batter Istanbul starting today, according to meteorologists.

Though temperatures will float above 30 degrees Celsius, occasional rainfall will pound parts of the city.

Experts say rainfall will peak on Wednesday and Thursday.

Weather forecast shows a return to sunshine on Friday.

A heatwave coupled with aggravated humidity had engulfed Istanbul over the past few weeks with temperatures rising to 35 degrees Celsius.
