Istanbul donates 15 buses to Bosnian capital

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has donated 15 buses to Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital Sarajevo. The buses were delivered yesterday to the Sarajevo Public Transportation Company (GRAS) by Istanbul Electricity, Tramway and Tunnel General Management. They were purchased in coordination with Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).

A handover ceremony was held in Sarajevo, attended by Turkey's Ambassador to Sarajevo Haldun Koç, TİKA Vice President Birol Çetin, Turkish lawmaker from Istanbul İsmail Hakkı Turunç, Bosnia and Herzegovina's Minister of Transport Mujo Fiso and GRAS Director Avdo Vatric.

In terms of development and prosperity, Koç said that Turkey has always given great importance to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"During President [Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan's visit, these issues were discussed. Turkey gives great importance to unity, integrity, stability and development. Witnessing 15 buses from Turkey on Sarajevo streets just two days after Erdogan's visit is a clear sign for it," said Koç. Erdoğan was in Sarajevo over the weekend where he attended a rally of Turkish expatriates in Europe and held talks with local officials.
