Reconciliation process on track, says Deputy PM

Turkey's Deputy PM Yalçın Akdoğan said on Wednesday that the solution process is on track and that talks are ongoing."Rather than focusing on what others are doing, people should focus on keeping their end of the bargain up," Akdoğan said during a TV interview. "I think it is important for the public to focus on the government's statements, rather than statements coming from the mountains and hills."Turkey launched what is publicly known as the "solution process" in 2013 to end the decades-old conflict with the outlawed PKK, a dispute that has claimed the lives of more than 40,000 people in the past three decades. The PKK, which is listed as a terrorist group by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, is mainly present on the rural and mountain areas of Turkey's southeast and eastern regions.
