PKK deems foreign media support vital for its existence

Fear and panic among the militants of the terrorist organization the PKK is spreading, as indicated by their radio chatter, after 943 of them were neutralized since anti-PKK operations launched on July 22. The talks between the terrorists revealed that PKK commanders deemed support from foreign media as vital to strengthening their cause, as the PKK has been suffering heavy losses in the field and their militants are being demoralized.

PKK field commander Ekrem Güney, known by his nom de guerre, Azad Siser, reportedly said the people of the region should be drawn into the conflict by creating the perception that the state is launching a total war against both the public and the terrorist organization. He added that perception management is vital for the organization's existence. It was also expressed that support from foreign media was essential; thus, militants were advised to propagate images of ruined buildings and trenches within the towns with self-declared autonomy on social media networks to imply Turkey is currently waging a civil war.

The radio chatter also indicated that public support for the PKK has dropped drastically after airstrikes pounded the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq, which serves as an important base of operations for the PKK. The airstrikes destroyed facilities and caused people to become unwilling to support the terrorist organization. Due to the decline in support, the PKK is searching for new strategies to instill fear in the people of the region. The ranking commanders allegedly advised militants to not trust the locals and "shoot them down if necessary" to strengthen their hold in the region, along with disrupting communication and transportation by destroying roads, railroad tracks, cellphone towers and radio stations.
