After the PKK terrorist organization unilaterally ended the cease-fire on July 11 and accelerated its deadly attacks, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) launched numerous air and ground operations against PKK hideouts and strategic targets, which killed 1,116 terrorists in the last 65 days, hastening a PKK meltdown.This rose to the surface once again late Tuesday on the German MED Nuçe TV, which is affiliated with the PKK. Speaking live on a program, a PKK member named Mehmet Tunç from the Cizre district of Şırnak province addressed the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and the PKK-affiliated Democratic Union Party's (PYD) armed People's Protection Units (YPG).Pointing to the terrorist organization being at the end of the road, Tunç said: "Artillery, mortar bombs and bombs dropped by the TSK tighten the circle." Underscoring that there are only 100 to 200 youth left in the area, Tunç burst into tears, saying: "I would like to address the people: Please save Cizre." The video landed like a bombshell, encapsulating how damaging and efficient operations launched by the TSK have been.President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu reiterated Ankara's firm stance against any kind of terror and terrorist organization. Erdoğan on Tuesday said: "At this point the only solution is for the PKK to lay down its arms. Nothing else can be discussed." Davutoğlu also ruled out any other possibility with regard to terror in the country, saying: "These mountains will be cleansed of terrorists. They will be cleansed whatever the cost may be."Security forces have so far retaliated against those posing a threat to national security and the peaceful environment of the country. Having used the building of dams and bridges as excuses in the statement that ended the cease-fire, the PKK has not only claimed the lives of 110 soldiers and police officers, but also targeted civilians, infrastructure and ambulances.Counterterrorism units have also launched raids against the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) and the urban youth branch of the PKK, the Patriotic Revolutionist Youth Movement (YDG-H). Out of the 2,330 detained suspects, 622 were arrested.
