PKK terrorists ordered to kill civilians taken to hospital

PKK terrorists in the Cizre district of southeastern Şırnak province are ordered to kill civilians being taken to hospitals, intercepted radio conversations revealed.

As operations continue at full steam in the southeastern regions of Turkey to fully eradicate PKK terrorism, PKK terrorists do not abstain from attacking civilians and children. Recently intercepted radio conversations show that the terrorists are ordered to fire at ambulances or vehicles carrying civilians to hospitals.

The terrorist organization has previously shot at ambulances and killed health staff. In late September, terrorists killed an ambulance driver in the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak province. In another incident late July, terrorists hijacked an ambulance carrying a pregnant woman in labor.

Health Minister Mehmet Müezzinoğlu said on Jan. 5 that in accord with efforts to prevent the terrorist organization from harming civilians by attacking ambulances and health staff, all necessary measures would be taken to secure the health system in the region. He added that three armored ambulances would be delivered to Diyarbakır, Şırnak and Mardin this week.
