Painting festival brings women together in Trabzon


Sponsored by Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the seventh International Painting Festival is displaying the works of female artists from 26 different countries in Trabzon. The exhibition organized by Femin&Art, an international association of female artists, takes place in a shopping mall this week.Trabzon's Deputy Governor Abdurrahman Koçoglu and Femin&Art's President Sükran Üst were among the participants. "We will continue the annual painting festival in upcoming years. It is very beautiful for women across the world engaging in artistic activities," Üst said, praising the quality of the displayed paintings. Fifty works of art are currently showcased at the event. The women artists intend to reflect peace, love and brother/ sisterhood in their works. The exhibition welcomes 100 painters from Turkey, Cyprus, Germany, Italy, Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Spain, Macedonia and Georgia. "With the motto of 'a different world is possible,' we will show our desire to live in peace with our brushes in Trabzon Prison, Rize's Pazar district and on the walls of a kindergarten in Ardesen," she said. The exhibition will be on display until Sept. 13.
