TL 22,000 diamond pacifier attracts attention

In recent years, the growing interest in gold pacifiers has encouraged a Turkish company to design a diamond pacifier that costs TL 22,000 ($9,500). Ömer Kaya, the owner of a jewelry company that produced gold pacifiers two years ago, told Anadolu Agency that they obtained a patent for gold pacifiers last year and have been observing an increasing interest in the product. The price of gold pacifiers ranges between TL 500 and over TL 1,000. "We sell 5,000 gold pacifiers annually. We have also designed a diamond pacifier. If requested, we can write the name of the baby in gold letters on it. I believe people want to buy something different to a gold bracelet or quarter and half gold coins," Kaya said. He also warned against imitation gold pacifiers and said his company was the first in this field with a wide range of designs. The company recently designed gold baby bottle for a cost of TL 2,000. The area between the bottle's glass and mouthpiece is made of 15 grams of 14 carat gold. Kaya said customers from Arab countries have showed the great interest in gold pacifiers and baby bottles. "Gold and diamonds never lose their value. We received positive feedback when our products were displayed at a fair in Istanbul. Our investments turn into profit," he concluded.
