Soap opera names have been on top of the list for the 2014's trendiest terms on Google in Turkey among the internet users. The soap operas 'Kiraz Mevsimi' and 'Med Cezir' were the trendiest search terms on the overall ranking, 'Arkadaşım Hoşgeldin' trendiest term on the Arts and Entertainment category, while one of the new word entered in to English, 'selfie', was the trendiest term on the Shopping category on Google, among Turkey's internet users in 2014. On the overall ranking while 'Ebola' was the hottest term in the US, 'world cup' followed in both the US and the UK. In Germany, Michael Schumacher and in Egypt 'Yabn el Halal' (Gentleman / well-born son), Hussain AlJassmi's 'Boushret Kheir' songs were trendiest Google terms in 2014 in the same category. In the Arts and Entertainment category, Robin Williams and Iggy Azalea were the hottest terms searched in the US and 'Big Brother 2014' and 'Frozen' were the trendiest terms searched in the UK, in 2014.In the News category, while the term 'seçim sonuçları 2014' (election results 2014) was the trendiest term in Turkey, 'Philip Seymour Hoffman' trendiest term in the US and the UK, 'europawahl 2014' (Europe elections 2014) trendiest term in Germany, and the 'elections' was the trendiest Google term in Egypt, in 2014.
