England: Abandoned Staffordshire bull terrier dog filled with tears

A black Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog was found abandoned just outside the Eastbourne Railway Station, in East Sussex, England, on February 11. The dog, filled with tears, was reportedly left only with a dish of water, and was waiting for an owner who fled in a taxi and never came back.

The dog has been placed in kennels and reportedly given the name 'Gazza' after the former English footballer and football manager Paul Gascoigne. Gazza had famously wept during the semi-final against Germany at the World Cup in 1990.

Officials are currently trying to trace the pet's owner. A spokesman for Eastbourne Borough Council reportedly said, "We are trying to trace the pet's owner who we urge to contact us."
