TİKA holds Turkish competition at Kabul University

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) organized the competition "I Get to Know Turkey with Turkish" in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan. During the competition, which took place in the Department of Turkish at the University of Kabul's Faculty of Language and Literature, students were asked questions about Turkey.

Over 100 students participated in the competition and the best 10 students were presented gifts. In a statement following the competition, Süleyman Şahin, TİKA's Kabul Coordinator, said that they are trying to show people the beautiful side of Afghanistan, a country usually associated around the world with terror. "We asked 50 questions to the students during the ‘I Get to Know Turkey with Turkish' competition and tried to test their knowledge of Turkey. We received great results. Students who were able to get into the top 10 received a small amount of pocket money from TİKA."

The chancellor of the University of Kabul, Professor Habibullah Habib, stressed that the cultural events organized by TİKA provide "great meaning" for the Afghan students and said that Turkey's aid is "very important" for Afghanistan.

Sultan Mahmudi, who came in first in the competition, thanked TİKA and said she worked hard preparing for the competition.
