Sustainable luxury
Last week, I had the opportunity of spending a couple of days in Cappadocia. In this time, I stayed in the Ariana Sustainable Luxury Lodge, the newest boutique hotel of the area, and observed the place just for you. Ariana is found in the Uçhisar region of the area. Inspired by the Hittites and the civilizations of the Middle East in its concept, the name of the hotel means "lands that are brightened by the sun." Contrary to the traditional antique hotel designs, it has a modern but still a harmonious structure with the texture of the geography. The valley view of the hotel, which has 11 rooms, has mesmerized me. The interiors of the rooms, on the other hand, are a wonder of architecture. The duplex suites are designed as loft rooms with mezzanines. In addition, there are deluxe rooms within the caves as well. The mosaic tiles in the bathrooms are certainly a piece of art. Each and every hotel room is named after a goddess. The onyx marble and wooden paneling, which are used in the rooms, as well as the hotel, in general are definitely of fine quality. The furniture, on the other hand, is modern but more compatible with nature with colors of cream and brown. I especially loved the sofa in the lobby of the hotel, which was in the shape of a saddle. Each one having a different story, this hotel was designed with an environmentally friendly understanding of architecture. Besides the painstaking planning of each detail for comfort in the hotel, sustainability is also taken as a mission with an ecologist perspective. The hotel produces a part of its energy itself. Recycling and respect for nature, benefiting from sunlight and integrating with the environment, are points that are paid attention to in the architectural details. While taking sustainability in the foreground, luxury was not left out, especially in the details. While L'Occitane products are used in rooms, Jacob Jensen is preferred for the phones in the rooms and bathrooms, and Bose brand is used for audio systems. The delicate binoculars put in the rooms are one of these details. In the morning, you may watch the ascending balloons from the terrace of your room with these binoculars. The balloon tours are very famous in Cappadocia. During these tours it becomes possible to understand the volcanic structure of the area seeing Cappadocia from high up with balloons departing around 5:00 a.m. in the morning. Here, a great view and experience awaits you.Ariana Sustainable Luxury Lodge has a luscious restaurant as well called The Plum. Here you can turn every meal of the day into a feast. The Pigeon Valley view will bring more meaning to your food. I loved the anglerfish and the quail with lavender that is featured on the menu. Likewise, the omelets and the pancakes on the breakfast menu are great. The vine cellar of the hotel on the other hand is quite rich. The employees of the restaurant are very eye-catching with their purple uniforms. They are hospitable and fast. The manager of the hotel is Koray Edemen who has worked in the tourism sector for many years, both in the United States and Turkey. I congratulate him for providing a valuable hotel to the Turkish tourism industry, as well as the tourists.Cappadocia is also very famous for its carpets. The greatest carpet seller of the region is Hadosan Halıcılık, who has been running the business for generations. There are exactly 150,000 carpets in the showroom of the company. The silk carpets, which change colors, are particularly splendid. Besides checking out the carpets in the showroom, you can also see the great effort and patience local women spend at the carpet loom for weaving these carpets. In addition, you can also learn how silk thread is produced from the cocoons. We have learned here that a thousand meters of thread can be made from a single silkworm cocoon. Likewise, a medium size carpet is produced in 4 months. However, unfortunately the art of carpet weaving is gradually dying. You may buy these miscellaneous carpets of different texture and colors and inherit them to your children. You may also consider buying a carpet as an investment when you hear the shockingly expensive carpet prices. I suggest you do not forget to check out the antique chest collection found in the yard of the shop while you are at Hadosan.Old mansion and new tasteMeanwhile, I also had the opportunity to taste very different flavors in very different places in Cappadocia. One of these places is an antique restaurant named the Old Greek House. I am talking about the mansion where the groundbreaking TV series "Asmalı Konak" was shot. With its ceramic ornaments, French balcony, stone steps and vineyards that adorn its roof, this place is an epic house. All tables are in the yard. Their mezzes and the steaks on tile are very popular. The inner ceiling, on the other hand is covered with wood in yellow, green and blue, and their vineyard is full of grapes. With its low ceiling kitchen, dogs by the door and old Turkish songs played in the background, the place seems like a living house. To be honest, I was happy to come to the Old Greek House. In addition, during my trip I also had the opportunity to explore some different fruit juice as well. I am very picky on this subject. I am talking about the first certified organic juice brand of Turkey, Elite Naturel, which has all the organic product certificates in the world. The products, which are offered in glass bottles, are said to be 100 percent pure and free of any preservatives such as additional sugar, gluten and colorants. They say that most of the fruits are squeezed with their pips. The juice of kalecik karası grapes and tomato juice with Aegean herbs was particularly interesting. I recommend you to try the extraordinary products of this brand, which are exported to 30 countries.3 Most Popular Restaurants of This Week1) Antiochia / Beyoğlu 2) Sait Balık / Bodrum3) Mandolin Terrace / Beyoğlu3 Most Popular Venues of This week1) Just Coffee / Cihangir2) Muhit Cafe / Karaköy3) Şairler Kahvesi / Akaretler3 Most Popular Hotels of This Week1) Jumeirah / Bodrum2) Witt Suites / Karaköy3) Morro / Alaçatı3 People You Should Follow This Week1) Serhat Pala / Entrepreneur2) Elçin Oflaz / Raw food chef3) Ceren El Roman / Actress
