The Forestry and Water Affairs Ministry approved the Troy Historical National Park's Term Development Revision Plan, which enables the investments that the ministry has been planning to make for the national park to move forward. Commenting on the importance of this new development, Forestry and Water Affairs Minister Versel Eroğlu said: "We aim to transfer this national heritage to the next generations by protecting a historical and cultural landmark with this revision plan."With the approval of the new plan, the national park has been territorialized and criteria have been introduced for the preservation of certain territory within the park. Moreover, new regulations have been announced regarding cultivated areas. Cultivated areas in the national park will be used for organic agriculture in support of sustainable farming. To increase the number of visitors to Troy National Park, camping areas and facilities for day-trippers will be built. A series of new events will also be held to increase the recognition of the archeological site in Troy National Park. As part of the approved revision plan, people living near the national park, managers and students will be given eco-tourism training. Market researches will be conducted to bring out the values and traditional products that the national park site has. The plan also aims to provide employment to locals with new facilities that are planned to be built in the national park complex. The archeological site and surroundings were declared a national park in 1996 and was included in UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List in 1998.
