A Prague-based charity offers free Wi-Fi connection on streets while meeting the basic needs of homeless people through the project "WI-FI4LIFE." According to certain local news channels, the charity gives a charger and modem to homeless people.Other citizens can connect to the Internet or charge their phones while they are on street. In return, homeless people are offered food, clothes, accommodation service and a certain amount of allowance. Lubos Bolecek, the project head, said in a statement that WI-FI4LIFE is very beneficial to integrate homeless people to social life while offering Internet connection and charge service to citizens. The Wi-Fi service is free to use and some companies also support the project through financial fund. The project has drawn criticism from some locals as homeless people are exposed to radiation, which can cause cancer.
