Russians living in Moscow prefer marrying Turkish people, according to data from the Moscow Registry Office. In the first 10 months of 2015, over 85,000 couples got married in Moscow, the Russian local news agency Interfax reported. Over 15 percent of the marriages were between Russians and foreign citizens.Citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Germans, Afghans and the English follow Turks and Ukrainians. Based on the data provided by the registry office, the number of marriages in Moscow has reduced by 1,755 compared to last year. Within the same period, nearly 120,000 children were born in Moscow. The parents of 11 percent of the babies have at least one parent with a different nationality. Most of this group includes Turkish people, too.
