Bitwalking users earn money while walking

Now, it is possible to earn money while walking. Bitwalking, a digital crypto-currency, generates money via walking. The free app converts steps to Bitwalking dollars, accumulated in your account each day. Giving users a chance to help the environment and keep fit at the same time, the app allows users to earn 1 Bitwalking dollar (BW$) for about 10,000 steps. "Walking means less vehicles, which means less pollution for us and the planet. Bitwalking dollars are earned through human movement, unlike other digital currencies that are mined by computers and have a carbon footprint," says its official website. The transactions on Bitwalking are secure and users can transfer funds to another account. Nissan Bahar and Franky Imbesi, the founders of the project, attracted more than $10 million in initial funding from Japanese investors for the start-up, BBC reported. Big sports companies as well as insurance and health firms are planned to be future partners for the project. People living in developed nations might not earn much from Bitwalking, but the project hopes to make contributions to those who live in poorer countries, where residents walk more for school or work.
