A play area at EXPO 2016 Antalya revives traditional street games, and children who do not have decent places to play outside in cities, are enjoying themselves with their parents. A number of street games like peg top, hopscotch and quoits are available for the smallest visitors at the EXPO venue. Kerem Er, a child visiting EXPO Antalya, said: "I like quoits, but I am not good at peg top. My father is better at it."Another visitor, Ceren Üstün, also said that she tries to come often, as the expo has lots of fun places. Zeynep Yılmaz, a mother visiting with her children, said that children are always busy with smartphones and games. "I spent my childhood [playing] on the streets. Children now cannot find enough places outside," Yılmaz said.The street games' platform's coordinator, Gizem Şavlukbaş, said that children forget their tiredness while playing there. "We are keeping traditional street games alive here," she said.Running since April 23, the international EXPO 2016 Antalya will continue until Oct. 30. The exposition is set up in a big field, including an EXPO tower symbolizing Hadrian's Gate, Turkey's first agriculture and biodiversity museum, a congress center, two amphitheaters and an artificial island for children. The theme of EXPO Antalya 2016 is: "A green world for future generations." The expo features national and international events such as concerts, congresses and symposiums, dance performances, musicals, plays, workshops, streets shows and special events for national days. It is meant to promote Turkish history and cultural diversity as well as the country's rich agricultural and economic potential. Visitors can also taste foods from different cities like Antalya, Istanbul, Diyarbakır, Trabzon, Bodrum, Erzurum and Konya.
