Mariah Carey arrives in Bodrum during secluded holiday

American pop singer Mariah Carey arrived in the Turkish resort town of Bodrum on Sept. 22 with her family for holiday, which went unnoticed by the press amid efforts for privacy.

Carey arrived in Bodrum with her husband, Australian billionaire James Packer, and her twins Roc and Monroe with their 80-meter-long and 14-meter-wide family yacht "Actric P" after visits to the Greek islands of Mykonos and Kos.

Carey's visit was uncovered after a fan snapped a picture of the star with his cellphone. 37-year-old hotel employee Aziz Topdağ recognized Carey despite her casual look and sunglasses, and took a couple pictures of the pop star and her family."I have been Mariah Carey's fan for years. I recognized her as soon as she got out of the boat and started walking. My doubts were cleared after I checked a photo of her with her children online. I started taking pictures right away. Her bodyguards came up to me a little later and politely warned me to not to take pictures. I guess their purpose was security rather than prevent me from taking pictures," Topdağ said.

Carey and her family had their dinner in Bodrum, and spent the night on their yacht. They reportedly visited the remains of the ancient city of Knidos in the Datça district the next day, and departed for Greek islands afterwards.
