Istanbul's very own design fest, Garden Sale, to gather local designers over the weekend


Istanbul regains its dynamic rhythm every fall with annual events popping up one by one all over the city. This weekend, on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, the fifth edition of the Garden Sale at KüçükÇiftlik Park will introduce over 70 designers, displaying myriad goodies, accessories, vintage objects and clothing.The two-day event will be a shopping extravaganza accompanied by street musicians, swing jazz performances, tasty food stands and creative workshops for children where they can have fun for a whole weekend. Guests may find old records at affordable prices and modern design items by local names.In the evening, the event continues at full speed as music performances enliven the park, which is located near Istanbul Technical University's (İTÜ) Maçka campus. On Saturday, Sattas, Turkey's very own reggae group, takes the stage. On Sunday, Four in the Pocket, featuring Elif Çağlar, Çağrı Sertel, Alp Ersönmez, Mert Önal and Toygun Sözen, interprets R&B, soul music and funk in for Garden Sale guests. An open-air film screening will also be held. Organized by URU and Showhow, the shopping event promises a fun weekend for Istanbulites.
