South Africans to meet Turkish language

Yunus Emre Institute's Johannesburg office aims to strengthen Turkey's connection with the South African people through the Turkish language with a series of courses and seminars. The courses are scheduled to kick off on April 5 and will build a cultural bridge between South Africa and Turkey.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Gökhan Kahraman, the director of the Yunus Emre Institute office in Johannesburg, said the language courses will be an effective starting point for the two countries to get better acquainted. He said the institute will organize Turkish craft courses, conferences featuring academicians and artists, and seminars promoting Turkey, all designed to boost the cultural and political relationships between Turkey and South Africa.

The Turkish language class will welcome 15 South Africans interesting in learning Turkish, and the institute continues to receive applications. Those who are interested in learning Turkish can submit their applications online, as well as turn them in at the institute office in Johannesburg.

The Yunus Emre Institute has been operating around the world since 2009. The institute has established a total of 52 cultural centers in 44 countries. So far, the Yunus Emre Institute has taught Turkish to 47,885 people worldwide.
