World children come to Turkey for Children's Day

Every year, children from around the world come together in Turkey on April 23 to celebrate National Sovereignty and Children's Day, the only special day reserved for children in the world.

Since 1979, TRT, Turkey's state-run TV channel, organizes the April 23 International Children's Festival, welcoming hundreds of children from around the world. This year's festival is set to be held in Nevşehir with the theme "Children are the future."

Organized for the 39th time, the International Children's Festival has welcomed around 30,000 children from various countries around the world so far. This year, hundreds of children from 26 countries will come together in Nevşehir.

The festival program will begin with the children visiting the tomb of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara and activities will continue throughout the week. The children taking pat will return home on April 26.
