Design competition takes inspiration from nature

The Turkey-based Consumer Environment Education Foundation (TÜKÇEV) will organize a design competition inspired by nature to create permanent, sustainable and eco-friendly solutions to the problems and threats that nature faces according to a statement released by the foundation.TÜRÇEV is asking participants to focus on biomimicry which emphasizes the fundamental design of the universe that has functioned flawlessly for millions of years.

As it turns out, biomimicry can teach future designers to create more eco-friendly, safer designs that allow producers to engage in lower-cost production while taking inspiration from the systematic structure of nature itself. Many nations, major tech giants and scientific researchers are already taking inspiration from nature.

TÜKÇEV aims to broaden the horizon of future designers and improve their abilities to solve problems through the development of innovative ideas. The opening of the competition will take place tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Ankara Hotel in the capital Ankara.
