Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has recently inaugurated an "accessible beach" for its disabled locals and tourists.

Located in Antalya's famous Konyaaltı Beach, the accessible beach allows disabled individuals to reach the sea via a special elevator and floor installed on the sand.

The beach also features a changing room where they can move easily with their wheelchair. Lifeguards are also kept ready to maintain safety or carry out any rescues.

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Menderes Türel announced that the city is planning to open two more accessible beaches in its Lara and Sarısu regions next year.
