Exhibit your handiwork at Maker Faire Istanbul

The first-ever Maker Faire Istanbul is set to bring Turkey's tinkers together at the city's historic Haydarpaşa Train Station between Oct. 27 and Oct. 29.

As part of the Do It Yourself (DIY) movement, the organizers have invited amateur inventors, students, businessmen and entrepreneurs to present their ideas and creations at the festival.

More than 15,000 visitors are expected to join the fair that will showcase personal creations as well as hold live music events, drone races, art installations, live street performances, workshops, panel sessions on robotics and art.

‘Do It Yourself'

DIY is the method of building, modifying or repairing things without the direct aid of experts or professionals.

The DIY movement is a re-introduction of the old pattern of personal involvement and use of skills in the upkeep of a house or apartment, making clothes; maintenance of cars, computers, websites; or any material aspect of living.

Although the movement began in the U.S. decades ago, it has been revived thanks to the short DIY videos on social media.
