Sidewalk Labs, owned by Google's parent company Alphabet, plans to build a digital city in Toronto, it announced on Wednesday.

According to the article published by the BBC, Sidewalk Labs has chosen a 48,500-square-meter area for the location of their digital utopia in Toronto, Canada.

First, the company plans to build a series of "smart" labs to meet the technological needs of the smart city.

The "Future City" will offer a suitable environment for fast wireless internet connection, millions of sensors, sustainable energy sources and self-driving cars.

Commenting on the project, Sidewalk Lab Director Dan Doctoroff said Toronto will be the scene of the revolutionary vision of Sidewalk Lab and depict how life in the future is going to be.
