Turkish electronics company makes animal walkers from waste materials

As a part of a social responsibility project, one of Turkey's largest electronics manufacturers, Vestel, has designed a walker made with waste materials for disabled animals.

The company teamed up with the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality to help strays that cannot run or walk like others of their species. As part of the project, the walkers will first be distributed to animal shelters in Manisa then throughout Turkey.

Vestel is known for a socially conscious approach in production to keep its carbon food print as small as possible. The recycling department of the company turns waste materials from electronic devices into walkers for cats and dogs to return what is taken from nature back to nature.

Commenting on the project, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün said the city has an animal rehabilitation center specializing exclusively on paralyzed animals.
