Number of Palestinian child prisoners in Israel's Ofer Prison reaches 99


The number of Palestinian children held in Israel's Ofer Prison has reached 99 as 24 of the children were taken during operations in March, the child detainees' representative in Ofer prison Abdul-Fattah Dola said.Dola said that 20 child prisoners are suffering deteriorating health conditions, including diabetes, while 15-year-old Khalid Al-Sheikh who is suffering from severe Anemia, is still held in Ofer Prison.Israeli occupation forces arrested Al-Sheikh on 25 December 2014 and an Israeli court sentenced him to four months in prison for allegedly throwing stones, the Palestinian Prisoners Society, an NGO, said.According to a statement released by the Palestinian Prisoners Society on Monday, most of the child prisoners were detained during predawn and night army attacks and have been interrogated without the presence of their parents or a lawyer. Over 7,000 Palestinians-including 250 children-are currently languishing in prisons throughout Israel, the Palestinian Prisoners Society reported.
