According to information obtained from local sources, three Daesh militants were killed Tuesday by wild boars in Iraq's Kirkuk province.

A group of Daesh members was hiding in the outskirts of the city in an agricultural area in the Al-Rashad region, 53 kilometers southwest of Kirkuk, when they were confronted by a herd of wild boars. Locals said that five militants were injured, and three were mauled to death by the animals.

Active in Iraq since 2014, Daesh holds some territory in the southeastern region of Kirkuk. The terrorist group is known to have executed many civilians for cooperating with Iraqi security forces.
