Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi will not seek a third term in office, he said in an interview with CNBC on Monday evening.

Sissi said in the interview that he does not intend to change the Egyptian constitution and will preserve the two four-year presidential terms outlined in the document.

However, he did not confirm if he intends to run for a second-term after March 2018 when his first term expires.
