Turkey’s Kenan Sofuoğlu scores season’s fifth victory in Supersport’s Germany leg

Turkish motorcyclist Kenan Sofuoğlu came in first place after the ninth leg of the 2016 World Supersport Championship in Germany on Sunday.

Four-time world champion Sofuoğlu, who competed for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team, started the 12-round race in the pole position on the track, 4,552-meter-long EuroSpeedway Lausitz, in Klettwitz region.

Sofuğlu won his third race in a row, while it was also his 32th win in his career.

In the beginning, Niki Tuuili from the Yamaha team outdistanced Sofuoğlu after the first corner, but the Turkish racer retrieved his first place in the third tour and kept his position till the finish line.

Tuuli finished second 1.7 seconds behind Sofuoğlu, while Jules Cluzel from MV Augusta team finished third 4.7 seconds behind.

Sofuoğlu has now gained fifth winnings in this season of the championship. Moreover, Sofuoğlu has outscored his competitors when he has gained third first place in a row.

Tenth round will begin on Oct. 2 in France. The championship consists of 12 rounds.
