Israeli musician condemns sanctions against Palestine

Israeli-born jazz musician and author, Gilad Atzmon said "the Palestinian conflict has turned into an intractable global disaster," prior to his "Hakka Sada" concert at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall on Thursday. "The world witnesses the suffering of the Palestinians and how Israel has become a huge threat to them in recent times," he continued. "The conflict should have been solved by now. The brutal actions of the Israeli state and Zionism toward not only Palestine, but the whole world must be stopped. It is now a global problem," he added. The jazz saxophonist said even Jewish people residing both inside and outside the country consider Israel a threat. "Israel is very dangerous for all of us and poses a greater danger for the Jews. Jewish people also complain about the situation. Anti-Israeli views have spread around the world and they are aware of the danger that this brings. Those living particularly in the U.S., the U.K. and France have begun to sympathize with the Palestinians. The regime's stance against the Palestinians is a hazard for them too," Atzmon said. Taking place following the opening of a group exhibition "Çalınan Topraklar" (Stolen Lands), Turkish audiences showed great interest in the concert, which was accompanied by Turkish rock music group Ceza, Mercan Dede and Sarp Maden.
