Music welcomes spring at İş Sanat
Bringing together beloved artists and musicians from around the world, İş Sanat presents an April calendar that will make audiences feel as if touched by a spring breeze through international music performances
İş Sanat has announced its April calendar of Turkish and international musicians. Istanbulites will have the chance to listen to Iranian singer Rita, the Swiss Lucerne Symphony Orchestra and Turkey's Shining Stars.The Israeli-Iranian diva in IstanbulIranian artist Rita Yahan-Farouz Kleinstein, who is professionally known as Rita, will be on the İş Sanat stage to perform songs that blend the mystical rhythms of Persian culture with Western melodies. The artist, who migrated to Israel with her parents when she was 8 years old, became famous after her debut 1987 album. Her albums have gone platinum three times. She gained international fame with her album "Breaking Those Walls" and caused a stir when she covered The Police's popular song "Roxanne" in the early 1990s. Throughout her career, Rita has sold more than 1 million copies of her albums and has been granted numerous awards. This internationally renowned artist also undertakes the role of a peace ambassador between Iran and Israel with her lyrics in Hebrew, Persian and English. Rita enjoys discovering new musical tastes by experimenting with different musical styles. Her latest album "My Joys" stands out with the musical richness of the region she lives in and reflects her Persian roots. Those who do not want to miss out on Rita's performance should note that Rita performs at İş Sanat on April 12 at 8:30 p.m.Lucerne Symphony for classical music loversThe 200-year-old Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, along with maestro James Gaffigan, internationally applauded for his conducting style and strong intuitive musicianship; one of the most prominent contemporary cellists, Truls Mork; and Grammy Award winning violinist Vilde Frang perform together at İş Sanat on April 22 at 8:30 p.m. The Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, whose reputation transcends borders thanks to its rich repertoire, featuring classical, Romantic and contemporary compositions, performs regularly with world-renowned soloists, such as Gidon Kremer, Martha Argerich, Renaud Capuçon, Fazıl Say and Lang Lang. Lucerne Symphony Orchestra maestro Gaffigan, who won first prize at the International Conductors' Competition Sir Georg Solti in 2004, has been the orchestra's conductor since the 2011-2012 season. Born into a family of musicians, Norwegian Truls Mørk is considered among the most accomplished cellists of his time. He has recorded Shostakovich's cello concertos and Bach's cello suites, which won him a Grammy Award. Last but not least, the young violinist Vilde Frang won the 2015 Echo Klassik Award for the "Best Concert Recording of the Year," and she is one of the most-sought after soloists of her time. She has performed in the most prestigious venues in the world, such as the Concertgebouw, Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall. İş Sanat invites all classical music lovers to this musical feast to experience these accomplished artists perform compositions by Brahms and Dvorak.Young stars shine at Millî Reasüransİş Sanat initiated the Shining Stars series at Millî Reasürans to support young musicians and help them gain stage experience. Percussionist Beste Gürkey and alto saxophonist Emre Akman will be guests of Millî Reasürans in April. During the concerts, which will take place on April 11 free of charge, Gürkey will perform compositions by Stensgaard, Santangelo, Sejourne, Hatch and Vanbeselaere, while Akman will perform compositions by Beethoven, Glazunov and Brahms.
