Jazz in the parks, night out events to host music lovers in istanbul

"Jazz in the Parks" and "Night Out," two previously postponed events of the Istanbul Jazz Festival organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), will take place on the Asian side of Istanbul. As part of the events, music lovers will come together for "The Jazz in the Parks" on Sept. 24 and for "Night Out" on Oct. 26.

Jazz in the Parks

Music lovers in Istanbul will unite for the "Jazz in the Parks" concerts that will take place at Fenerbahçe Khalkedon Park free of charge on Sept. 24 beginning at 1 p.m. Events can be simultaneously watched live on the Facebook page of Vodafone FreeZone.

As part of "The Jazz in the Parks" program, "Young Jazz" concerts, which have been a platform for young musicians and groups for 12 years, will take place between 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. According to this year's assessment, the 95th Jazz Ensemble, Gagarin Jazz Band, Ersin Özer Quartet and Geeva Fleeva have gained the right to take the stage as part of the event.

Gagarin Jazz Band, which has Orkun Akyol on piano, Alp Paksoy on saxophone, Fırat Şık on drums and Atahan Çiftçi on bass guitar, has a wide range of repertoire and puts their own style into jazz. Founded by Ersin Özer, a representative of the trombone in the new generation, Ersin Özer Quartet performs their distinctive arrangements on jazz standards. 95th Jazz Band, which has Ömer Koşar on alto sax, Efe Artun Yüksel on guitar, Anıl Deniz on contrabass and Batuhan Toyhan on drums, aims to take jazz pieces out of its standards while Geeva Fleeva performs in many experimental fields where music can't be labeled such as jazz, blues, pop, rock, ambient, electronic and post-rock.
